Just for fun I tried to model something in 3D in just 4 hours, I picked a Skree from Metroid to practice organic stuff.

I Only did the modeling, no Textures. Next time I do this I will try to record it, I will make a Ripper: IMAGE

Not too shabby for a speed model. A method I use for organic modelling is to lay out the basic shape in Zbrush using Zspheres, getting a good basic mesh to sculpt on top of, and then retopologizing it. You can get really good results really fast as long as you're comfortable enough painting your own edge flow. CONSIDER THAT SHIT.

I suck alot modeling with zbrush :(, I only use zbrush to texture a make the displace and normal maps

I'm not really one to judge in this criteria, so I'll just say that this looks pretty good for just 4 hours. Good luck with your future....3D....modeling....stuff.

it's all about the bump map.
still trying to drive that into my mind between using max for the modeler and maya for textures.
can't wait to see your video when you get done recording!

NVIDIA made a plugin for photoshop to make NORMAL BUMP maps, works better than the traditonal bump and is faster http://developer.nvidia.com/nvidi a-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop
